L’Papillon
Moody & embracing
L’Papillon is an 1890’s cottage looking back at Wombat Hill and the rooftops of Daylesford. Set in a beautiful garden with two outdoor areas for enjoying the sunshine, the cottage was fully restored in 2019.
Bedrooms
Both bedrooms incorporate feather-topped Queen beds fitted out in the softest pure linen sheets and duvets and luxurious throws.
Bathrooms
Two sparkling new bathrooms – with a deep free-standing bath positioned for a view to the gardens in one and a double walk-in shower in the other. Soft European linen towels and Aesop products add to the luxury.
Living Room
The living room incorporates a large antique sofa, vintage armchairs and an open fireplace for Daylesford’s cooler days. The dining area complete with antique dining table and the longest church pew, opens out on to a deck surrounded by jasmine and overlooking the garden. And for those long evenings, we have a Gin station in the lounge with complimentary local and Australian gins (& tonic in the fridge).
Kitchen
The light-filled kitchen is well set-up with all of the equipment you need for breakfast, lunch and dinner in. Stove with gas cooktop and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee maker – all easy to use. And all the glasses, crockery and cooking implements you desire. A basic pantry and complimentary milk & eggs are also provided.
The cottage also has a full-stocked library with Turntable and a great selection of LPs. Two ottomans in the library convert to comfortable foldout single beds. An air-conditioner has been installed to take the edge off the heat of mid-summer & the cottage has gas heating throughout. WIFI and TV/DVD also available. Outdoor seating includes the small deck off the dining area, a covered front porch with an antique daybed (perfect spot for morning coffee!) & a four piece setting down in the garden. The garden includes a vegetable patch with perennial herbs and lettuce.
